A Karachi traffic police officer's honesty restored hope for an elderly citizen after returning a lost bag containing money saved for Umrah.

During routine patrolling at the Khayaban-e-Ittehad and Bukhari light signal in DHA, South Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Rana Muhammad Latif and Constable Driver Mir Zaman found a handbag labeled with the name “Muhammad Yousuf” and a mobile number.

Upon inspecting the bag, they discovered Rs. 515,000 in cash and two passports.

The officers immediately contacted the phone number written on the bag and reached out to Muhammad Yousuf.

They arranged to meet him at the same location and returned the bag with all its contents intact.

The elderly citizen, overwhelmed with gratitude, shared that he was on his way to deposit the funds with a travel agent for his upcoming Umrah pilgrimage when he accidentally dropped the bag.

Expressing his heartfelt appreciation, the citizen praised the integrity and dedication of the traffic police officers.

In recognition of their honesty, DIG Traffic Police Karachi announced certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for Sub-Inspector Rana Muhammad Latif and Constable Mir Zaman, commending them for their exemplary conduct.
