Karachi man robbed by muggers at gunpoint outside his home in Nazimabad

A man was robbed of his bike and valuables at gunpoint outside his home in Karachi's Nazimabad area, it emerged on Thursday.
The entire incident was recorded on a nearby CCTV camera. The crime took place at Nazimabad No 3 area of the port city on September 15.
The victim arrived at his house on a bike with a child. The child went inside the house with a woman while the man remained on his bike checking his phone.
Three robbers approached him from behind and forced the man off his bike. They immediately seized his vehicle and instructed him to hand over his valuables.
The muggers escaped on the victim's bike while he watched helplessly.
Despite repeated assurances by the Sindh government, street crime continues to plague the metropolis.
A total of 5,951 mugging incidents were reported in August alone, according to the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC).
During these incidents, 23 cars and 656 motorcycles were taken at gunpoint while 150 cars and 3,385 bikes were stolen from different parts of Karachi.
At least 1,737 mobile phones were also snatched from citizens.
More than 44,000 criminal incidents were reported in the first seven months of 2024, reflecting the deteriorating law and order situation in the metropolitan city.
