Karachi man tortures elderly father, brother over inheritance dispute

In a distressing case, police in Karachi's Sachal area arrested a man on Monday after he assaulted his father and elder brother in a property dispute.

In a video circulating on social media, the elderly father, who suffered torture at the hands of his son, can be seen making desperate pleas to the authorities for help protecting him from his son and apprehending him.

The father, Javed, alleged that his younger son wanted to sell the ancestral house to claim his share of the property. 

When Javed refused, his son, along with his “rogue friends,” brutally tortured him and his elder son.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar stated that the video of Javed went viral on social media, prompting police action that led to the arrest of the son, Hassan. 

A case has been registered against Hasan at the Sachal police station on the father's complaint.

The details of the case also revealed that the accused had previously tortured his mother, leading to her death.

The father further alleged that Hassan is a drug addict who has repeatedly vandalised his home and tortured his family. 

The police reported that the violence against Javed by his son occurred on June 10.
