Karachi police arrest suspect accused of robbing bank customers after cash withdrawals

Police in Karachi have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in robbing bank customers shortly after they withdrew cash, according to SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh.

The suspect, identified as Sajjad, was arrested during an operation carried out by Gulistan-e-Jauhar police.

According to SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh, the suspect and his accomplices allegedly targeted customers outside banks after conducting surveillance inside the branches.

The group reportedly identified individuals making large cash withdrawals and followed them before robbing them at gunpoint after they exited the bank.

Police said the suspect was allegedly involved in the robbery of a bank customer who was deprived of Rs400,000 while leaving a bank with cash.

A weapon was recovered from the suspect during the arrest, and a criminal case has been registered.

Police said further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect’s alleged accomplices.
