Karachi police register case after US woman alleges sexual assault in DHA

Police in Karachi have registered a case after a foreign woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted inside her apartment in Defence Phase VI, Muslim Commercial area.

According to police, the incident was reported to have taken place at around 4:30am on 17 July 2026.

The complainant, identified as Melinda May Paris, alleged that a man named Adi Mahmood entered her apartment and sexually assaulted her.

Following the woman's complaint, police registered FIR No. 490 of 2026 under Section 376 and transferred the case to the investigation unit for further inquiry.

Police officials said investigators are examining all aspects of the incident, collecting evidence and conducting further inquiries as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the suspect or the progress of the case.
