With the arrival of Ramadan, Karachi—known for its generosity—has once again become a prime target for professional beggar mafias.

Thousands of beggars from across the country have flocked to the city, taking advantage of increased charitable giving during the holy month.

According to media reports, over 300,000 beggars have already entered Karachi, with more arriving daily via trains, buses, and private vehicles.

These organized groups occupy streets, markets, and sidewalks, using deceptive tactics to exploit human sympathy while depriving the truly deserving of assistance.

Despite clear directives from the Supreme Court and Sindh High Court against organized begging, the provincial and local authorities appear unable to control this growing issue.

Citizens have urged authorities to take strict action against the beggar mafia and ensure that charitable donations reach those in genuine need.
