Lahore citizen faces over Rs2.3 mn in e-challans after selling motorbikes on installments

A citizen’s practice of providing motorcycles on instalments has resulted in serious trouble for him in Lahore.
According to details, traffic fines amounting to Rs 2,388,700 have been issued in the name of a citizen identified as Sadiq Khan.
A total of 500 motorcycles are registered under his name, and the Safe City Authority has already issued 2,071 e-challans for these vehicles.
Sadiq Khan, a resident of Garhi Shahu, Lahore, came under scrutiny when a traffic warden stopped a motorcycle bearing the registration number ACL 8179 at Campus Bridge.
The motorcycle was registered in Sadiq Khan’s name.
Upon inspection, the motorcycle was found to have outstanding e-challans worth Rs 12,000.
Further investigation revealed that 500 motorcycles had been registered under his name, for which 2,071 e-challans have been issued so far.
