Sargodha youth allegedly stabbed to death by best friend over money dispute

A law student at Allama Iqbal Law College lost his life after allegedly being killed by a close friend who lured him out under the pretense of a casual outing and then stabbed him to death over a money dispute.

Saim Ansar, 21, was the eldest of his siblings and was pursuing an LLB degree at Allama Iqbal Law College. He left home with his friend after repeated insistence and later went missing.

According to reports, the family searched for him throughout the night but could not find him. This prompted them to report his disappearance to the police.

The next day, police were informed about an unidentified body found in Model Colony, behind the University of Central Punjab. Upon investigation, it was confirmed to be Saim Ansar, who had been missing since January 22.

The victim's father told the media that the culprit was the "best friend" of Saim.

'He (culprit) was searching for my son with us,' the father told the local media, adding that the police suspect Saim's friend and also questioned him."

"He killed my son over money. He was one of his oldest best friends. My son always helped him in his financial difficulties, but he killed him over a money dispute," the father said.

The body bore signs of severe torture, with multiple stab wounds. Police took custody of the body and transported it to a hospital for postmortem.

Authorities have arrested several of Saim's friends and have launched an investigation. However, the motive behind the murder and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

On the other hand, the victim’s friends denied their involvement Saim'smurder, stating Neither did they have any idea of the incident nor did they do this.

They returned home after the outing. They don't even know where Saim went afterwards.
