Man arrested for obscene act in car outside Karachi University

A man filmed while doing an indecent act inside a car outside the University of Karachi gate has been arrested.

Police officials said the suspect has been identified as Mohiyuddin Ali, and a case has been registered against him at Mominabad Police Station.

Police stated that the accused was involved in obscene behaviour inside his vehicle, which was filmed by women present at the scene.

The video later went viral on social media.

According to police, the video of the indecent act was recorded on 1 January.

Police further revealed that the accused, Mohiyuddin Ali, is married and the father of three children.

It may be recalled that in September 2024, police arrested another individual for allegedly harassing female students near the Karachi University campus. The suspect, identified as Adeel Zafar, had reportedly followed a students’ van on a motorcycle while making obscene gestures.

A video of that incident, recorded near the UBL Sports Complex, had also gone viral on social media, triggering widespread public outrage.
