NAB to launch AI-based investigation system to probe financial crimes, white-collar offences

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched the first-ever sovereign generative AI-driven investigation system in Pakistan with the help of the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI).

As per NCAI Chairman Dr Yasar Ayaz, the platform will be used to facilitate investigations on cases of financial crimes, corruption, and other white-collar crimes using AI technologies.

The platform will help enhance the process of investigation through complaint verification, inquiry management, financial analysis, evidence management, and decision making.

This tool will help enhance transparency, accountability, and digital governance along with data sovereignty and institutional control.

In a review meeting, chaired by NAB Islamabad/Rawalpindi Director General Waqar Ahmed Chauhan and also participated by the experts from NCAI, the progress of the platform was discussed, and the participants were satisfied with its development.

This AI-powered platform is expected to become a flagship indigenous technology project of Pakistan once it becomes operational.
