Kanwar Ashraf shared that Ibrahim was three years old and the only child of his parents. "The family is in complete shock, and Ibrahim’s mother had to be taken to the hospital due to the trauma," he said.

Ashraf added that when the family reached the spot, no rescue officials were present. "Construction work was underway in the area, and although four cranes were available, they were out of reach. Workers claimed the machinery was not functioning. One crane was present but had no diesel, so the family and locals collected money to purchase fuel before it could be operated," he lamented.

He stated that no rescue services, including 1122 or any municipal teams, were present at the time.

He said that no official visited the family to offer sympathy — not even today.

Another uncle, Muhammad Junaid, said that a man had informed them that his child had also fallen into the same manhole two years ago. He said it was the responsibility of the relevant chairman to ensure public safety. He added that although the store had installed cameras, no effort was made to cover the open manhole for 2 years.
