Kuruluş Osman actor Serhat Kılıç found dead at home

Turkish actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç, who appeared in popular TV series including Ezel, Seksenler and Kuruluş Osman, has died at the age of 51.

Kılıç was found unresponsive at his home in Istanbul after his girlfriend went to check on him when she could not get in touch with him.

Özlem E., who had her own key to the apartment, entered the home and found the actor motionless in an armchair in the living room. She then called Turkey’s 112 emergency service after noticing that he was not breathing.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced Kılıç dead.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Özlem E. told investigators that Kılıç had been suffering from lymphatic cancer.

Authorities said an initial examination of his body found no visible wounds or signs of an assault. His body was later taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy, which will determine the cause of death.

Kılıç had been active in Turkish television and cinema and was also involved in theatre. In 2014, he established his own acting and theatre academy.
