ISLAMABAD: Unconditional support was offered by the opposition to Pakistan’s initiatives aimed at maintaining regional stability during the discussion on Wednesday in the National Assembly after the US-Iran ceasefire.

Members belonging to both treasury and opposition benches hailed Pakistan’s diplomatic stance and underlined the significance of unity within the country while facing the new regional realities.

The National Assembly’s sitting, presided over by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, included elaborate deliberations on the Iran-US ceasefire agreement, along with the regional scenario.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the ceasefire agreement was an unprecedented and proud achievement for all of us. This is because our sincere diplomatic efforts have brought about peace in the Middle East region.

He further highlighted that now Pakistan is being recognized across the globe with respect and appreciation. He highly appreciated the diplomatic endeavors made by PM Shehbaz Sharif, DPMA Ishaq Dar, and FM Syed Asim Munir

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazeer Tarar told the assembly that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had already kept the cabinet aware about the regional environment and diplomacy and will be here at today’s session to assure the members of confidence.

He termed this event an important day in the history of Pakistan as the country was honored worldwide. He further asked the opposition leaders not to hold protest marches against the government but remain united on national issues.

Ali Muhammad Khan, president of PTI, maintained that the world of Muslims is experiencing a crucial phase where Pakistan needs to perform its duty as the leader of Muslim Ummah.

He maintained that the political leadership should come forward in Pakistan's interest and the interest of Muslims Ummah. He maintained that Pakistan should behave like the "elder brother" of Iran to solve its issue.
