Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, responding to MQM, said that politics under the guise of tragedy and any attempt to divide the province will not be allowed.

Speaking on Geo News programme Naya Pakistan, Wahab said that in Punjab even roads are built by the federal government, while Karachi receives no such cooperation.

“Do not ask us why the Yellow Line and Red Line projects have not yet been completed. Ask the federal government why the Green Line project in Karachi remains unfinished,” he said.

The mayor reiterated that exploiting a tragedy for political purposes or seeking to divide the province would not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, MQM leader Senator Faisal Sabzwari said that politics is the art of the possible and that placing Karachi under federal control is also an option.

He added that no one is engaging in politics under the pretext of the tragedy.

It may be recalled that MQM Pakistan has been demanding that Karachi be placed under federal administration.
