President Asif Ali Zardari has called a session of the National Assembly for June 10 at 5pm at the Parliament House.

According to an official notification, the president convened the session under Article 54(1) of the Constitution. The notice stated that this will be the 28th session of the 16th National Assembly.

President Zardari has also summoned a Senate session for June 10 at 4pm, according to a statement issued by the President’s Office on social media.

A source within the National Assembly Secretariat said that both sittings have been designated as budget sessions for the 2026–27 fiscal year.

However, the federal budget is expected to be presented on June 12. The sessions have reportedly been called to prepare for the budget and ensure the attendance of lawmakers ahead of its presentation.

Under Article 63 of the Constitution, Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) may face disqualification if they abstain from voting on the budget.
