In a blatant act of theft, armed robbers, who came in a police mobile van, looted a paan shop in Karachi.

The incident, which occurred in Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13D area of the metropolis, was captured on the shop's CCTV camera.

The shopkeeper reported losing more than Rs70,000 in the robbery.

The affected shopkeeper, Shahzeb Mughal, spoke to the media, stating that the assailants arrived in a police vehicle. One robber jumped into his shop, and they stole over Rs35,000 cash, cigarettes, and other items from the cash counter.

The CCTV footage showed the police vehicle parked in front of the shop, with one plainclothed individual outside while another was seen taking bags filled with cash and cigarettes from inside the shop.

One suspect's face was clearly visible in the video, while the other wore a mask.

Mughal disclosed that this was not the first incident, the same individuals had targeted him earlier on June 2.

During the previous incident, the bandits asked him to step outside the shop, and when he refused, they forcefully stole his mobile phone.

The police have contacted the victim and asked him to file a formal complaint at the station.
