The passports of Sajid Akram, an Indian-origin man allegedly involved in the Sydney attack, and his son have come to light.
According to documents, Sajid Akram’s Indian passport was issued by the Indian Embassy on February 24, 2022, and was valid for ten years.
According to reports, Indian authorities were aware of the attacker’s Indian nationality from the very beginning, but this information was not made public immediately. Soon after the incident, attempts were made by the Indian media to portray the attacker as Pakistani, which are now being described as misleading propaganda.
According to a foreign publication, Australia expelled two officials of India’s intelligence agency in 2020 over alleged espionage activities. The report further stated that these activities were aimed at profiling Indian nationals living in Australia.
Experts say investigations into the Sydney attack are still ongoing, and various aspects are being examined. It has also emerged that Sajid Akram recently traveled to the Philippines on an Indian passport. Australian authorities have stated that the investigation will be completed after reviewing all available evidence.
