Sindh govt announces Rs1mln for family of killed gold medalist in Karachi

The Sindh government has approved a compensation of Rs. 1 million for the family of Laraib, a gold medalist BBA student who was killed in a street crime incident.

Laraib was shot on March 4 in Korangi during a mobile snatching attempt, during which the assailants also took his mobile phone and fled. The compensation was approved by the Sindh government for the family of the martyred young man.

Following approval from the Chief Minister of Sindh, a letter for the compensation has been issued.

The compensation was granted upon the request of MPA Farooq Awan, who stated that the Sindh government approved the amount based on his request.

The Sindh Home Department will issue the cheque for the compensation.
