Speeding truck of SSWMB crushes motorcyclist to death in Karachi

The speeding truck of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board crushed the motorcycle rider to death at spot near Nagan Chowrangi in Karachi.

They said that at 8:15am the over-speeding truck (GSTC-9593) of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, while speeding on the Nagan Chowrangi bridge in the remit of New Karachi police, hit the motorcycle killing its rider instantly.

After the crash, bystanders at the scene snatched the driver and started beating him. Further, the enraged mob also pelted the truck with stones, smashing its windshield while trying to set it afire. But the police arrived in time and saved the truck from burning.

The dead motorcyclist and the hurt driver who was injured after being subjected to thrashing by a mob were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

SHO New Karachi Saud Ahmed said deceased was identified as Hameed-ur-Rehman, 55, son of Atta-ur-Rehman and a resident of Surjani Town.
