SPU cop slaps senior officer after heated argument in Lahore

A Special Protection Unit (SPU) constable slapped and manhandled his senior officer after a heated argument in Lahore.

The video of the incident also went viral on social media, which prompted the police department to take action against the suspect.

According to police, the incident happened a month ago at SPU Headquarters in the Manawan area of Lahore.

Police said that an SPU constable, identified as Babar, had abused and slapped his senior officer, Sub-Inspector Zaman, after a bitter debate over a petty issue.

However, the matter was not disclosed by the law enforcers.

In the viral video, Babar could be seen grabbing Zaman's hand and then slapping the latter on the face.

Following the quarrel, Zaman didn't respond and left the place without any retaliation. 

However, the cop was terminated from his service after an inquiry committee found him guilty.

Reacting to the video, DIG SPU Muntazir Mehdi said that violation of discipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
