Stray bullet kills female college student in Karachi's Korangi

A female student lost her life in a stray bullet during a police encounter near Korangi No. 6 Market in Karachi.
According to reports, the shooting occurred close to the market during what police described as an encounter with suspected criminals.
A 17-year-old girl was fatally struck by a bullet while travelling in a rickshaw with her mother and younger brother after visiting her grandmother’s home. She later succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased was the only sister of two brothers. Police stated that one suspect was apprehended at the scene.
Police officials stated that officers encountered suspected robbers in the Korangi No. 6 Market area.
When police pursued them, the suspects allegedly opened indiscriminate fire. In the exchange of gunfire, one motorcyclist, believed to be a robber, was injured and fell to the ground.
According to police, the second suspect managed to escape while firing shots and fled with the looted money.
Following the arrest, a crowd gathered at the scene and began assaulting the injured suspect. Police intervened and shifted him to the hospital in a police vehicle.
Police officials confirmed that a suspect identified as Mola Bakhsh was arrested in an injured condition during the alleged encounter, while his accomplice remains at large.
