Teachers seek pending PSER payments in Attock

ATTOCK: The teachers taking part in the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) survey are asking Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the Attock Deputy Commissioner to take notice of their problem regarding the non-payment of their pending salaries, saying that they are still to be paid for their work done earlier this year.

The Punjab government initiated the PSER survey in October 2025, with government school teachers along with some of the privately employed individuals undertaking the survey process.

Prior to starting their work, all the people were trained officially, and during the process, it was told to them that they will be fully paid for 60 days of their work.

As per the teachers, payment was made to them till December 2025, but the money that was paid was deducted by Rs3,000 from each individual under the heading of tax. They said that they were still to be paid the salaries of January and February, despite their demands for the money.

They said that while private employees of the survey process had received payment, they have been denied the payment on the pretext that bills for their salaries have not been approved by the Punjab government.

The teachers maintained that they had discharged their duties with diligence, integrity and in accordance with the prescribed targets. They argued that withholding payment for completed work was not only unjust but also constituted a breach of the commitments made to them before the survey began.

Responding to the concerns, PSER District Manager Attock Inamullah Khan said payment cheques had already been received in several districts, including Okara, and expressed hope that Attock would receive its allocation shortly.
