A technical committee has declared Gul Plaza structurally unsafe and recommended its complete demolition.

The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and the Pakistan Engineering Council conducted an inspection of Gul Plaza, following which the technical committee deemed the building hazardous.

The committee recommended that Gul Plaza be demolished after the completion of rescue operations.

The plaza covers 8,124 square yards and houses 1,102 shops.

The SBCA stated that the entire plaza was destroyed in a fire on Saturday night. Adjacent buildings have also been inspected to assess any impact.
