Teenage domestic worker 'commits suicide' in Karachi DHA bungalow

A 17-year-old domestic worker was found dead inside a residence in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority.

According to police officials, the teenager, identified as Nazeer Ahmed, was discovered hanging in the servant quarters of a bungalow situated in DHA Phase VI. Law enforcement personnel reached the location after receiving information about the incident.

A forensic unit examined the scene and gathered relevant material, after which the body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to complete legal and medical procedures.

Officials at Darakhshan police station said efforts were underway to obtain footage from the house’s CCTV cameras to assist the inquiry.

A police official said that initial findings pointed towards suicide. He added that early information suggested the boy may have taken the step due to personal or family-related issues. Authorities said investigations are continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the death.
