Security forces have killed 10 militants during an intelligence-led operation in Zhob district of Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on 25 February as part of a comprehensive area sanitisation drive based on credible intelligence.
The ISPR said the action was conducted in continuation of an earlier intelligence-based operation on 24 February, in which eight militants described as Indian-backed Khawarij were killed.
During the latest operation, security forces tracked the movement of suspected militants across multiple routes and effectively targeted their hideouts.
A further 10 militants were killed in an exchange of fire.
Weapons, ammunition and explosive materials were recovered from the site, the statement added.
The slain militants were allegedly involved in several acts of terrorism in the area.
The ISPR said sanitisation operations would continue to eliminate any remaining threats.
It reaffirmed that under the National Action Plan, security forces and law enforcement agencies will persist with counter-terrorism efforts at full pace to eradicate externally backed militancy from the country.
