The bodies recovered from a manhole near Mai Kolachi had signs of torture according to the medical team who examined the bodies. The bodies found on Friday, in a manhole, near the railway crossing area in Mai Kolachi when passersby informed rescue officials of a pungent smell coming from a manhole. 

The police and Edhi officials then took the bodies out of the manhole. The bodies appeared to be 10 to 15 days old and were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for post-mortem. 

Dr Samia Syed, a police surgeon, revealed that medical examination shows multiple injuries consistent with torture.

Amongst the bodies found was a boy aged 13, a boy aged 10 and a girl aged 13, all of whom had visible wounds on either their head, face or neck. The fourth body, identified as a woman in her 40s, also showed signs of torture. Samples have been sent for chemical analysis to help with the investigation.

DIG South, Asad Raza, claimed that the bodies had been thrown in the manhole about a week before they were found. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the case, directing police and relevant authorities to investigate all aspects of the incident and ensure those responsible are held accountable. 

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, home minister of Sindh, also ordered a detailed report of the incident from the SSP Kemari.

Police is currently working to identify the victims and uncover the full details surrounding the grave incident.
