ISLAMABAD: Two Saudi Arabian diplomats were robbed in the federal capital by unidentified men, according to a police complaint.

This is the third incident of mugging targeting foreigners in the last couple of weeks. The police have taken up the case and cordoned off the area to hunt for the gangsters, but have so far failed to apprehend them.

“We were walking in Hill View Park when men aged around 30-35 on two motorcycles approached us and robbed us of our two iPhone 15 Pros,” stated the first information report filed at the federal capital’s Margalla Police Station.

The case was registered on the complaint of Saudi Attaché Khalid bin Modhi Al Toom. Each mobile phone was valued at Rs300,000.

One of the suspects was carrying a dagger, while the other was armed with a firearm. The suspects forcibly snatched the two mobile phones from the victims and fled the scene. “They kept asking us for the passwords,” the report stated, adding that the suspects fled towards Centaurus Mall.

The complaint invoked Section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

In response to the incident, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police has formed four special teams, and the SP (Operations) has been assigned a special task to investigate the matter.
