Woman arrested in Khanewal for filing fake rape case to blackmail man

A woman has been arrested in Kabirwala Tehsil of Khanewal district for allegedly filing a false case to blackmail a man, police confirmed.

According to police, a case had been registered against the woman at Sarai Sidhu Police Station a day earlier.

Police stated that based on the woman’s allegations, a rape case was registered on October 9, and a suspect was subsequently taken into custody.

However, during the investigation, the suspect was found innocent and was later released.

Further inquiry revealed that the woman had fabricated the allegations in an attempt to blackmail and extort money from the accused.

Following this revelation, the woman was arrested, and further investigation is underway, police added.
