Woman gang-raped in front of her husband during robbery in Sahiwal

In a horrific incident of sexual assault, a woman was gang-raped by two armed dacoits in front of her husband during a robbery in Sahiwal.

According to police, the distressing incident occurred at Chak 17/EB of tehsil Arifwala in the wee hours of Wednesday (July 31).

The suspects attacked Muhammad Aslam's farm on the outskirts of the village, where he lived with his wife, two children, and the families of his three farm servants.

Police said the robbers locked the entire family in a room and took Aslam's wife with them to get access to the cash and other valuables.

Upon showing resistance, the suspects physically assaulted her and locked her in another room, the law enforcers added.

After robbing the farmhouse, the accused gang-raped the labourer's wife in front of her husband.

The FIR mentioned that the robbers fled with Rs50,000 in cash, a motorcycle, and two sacks of DAP fertilizer.

Police Chief Arifwala conducted a forensic analysis and took the victim to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where the medical report confirmed the rape.

A case was registered against the unidentified suspects and samples were sent for DNA testing.

Taking notice of the incident, District Police Officer Tariq Wilayat formed an investigation team headed by SP Investigation Shahida Noreen to probe the matter.
