Woman who 'threw acid' on man over marriage refusal in Peshawar arrested

Peshawar police have taken into custody a woman who allegedly threw acid on a young man after he refused to marry her in the city's Chamkani area.

According to the police, the woman, who was nominated in the first information report (FIR), has been taken into custody. She was also allegedly injured while throwing acid at the man.

The police said the acid caused burns to her hands, feet and other parts of her body.

She will be presented before a court for remand and questioning after being discharged from hospital, officials said.

According to the police, the woman allegedly threw acid at the young man after he refused to marry her.

The case was registered at the Chamkani police station in connection with the incident a day earlier.
