Young author shot dead over robbery resistance in Karachi

As Karachi remains mired in the daunting challenge of street crime, a young author was shot dead by muggers for resisting a robbery bid in the Korangi area of Karachi.

According to the details, the victim, identified as Laraib, was going to the gym when two armed men arrived on a motorcycle, and one of them got off the two-wheeler. 

Laraib's father said that he was a student of BA final and was writing a book on basic principles of accounting.

As narrated by the victim's father, Laraib refused to give the mobile phone to the dacoits as the data for his upcoming book was saved in the gadget.

This motivated the mugger to pull the trigger and shoot Laraib before fleeing with his accomplice, he added.

His father said that Laraib was set to get married next month in April.

However, police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) and obtained the CCTV footage of the crime scene to arrest the suspects.
