Although Pakistan lost the opening T20 against Australia, Babar Azam managed to set two records for his nation during the rain-affected match.
Babar Azam achieved his 124th T20 game, surpassing the previous record held by Shoaib Malik for Pakistan.
He also set a new record for the most catches by a Pakistani player, eclipsing Fakhar Zaman's tally of 50 catches.
Australia thrashed Pakistan by 29 runs in the rain-affected first T20I match held at The Gabba stadium in Brisbane on Thursday.
Batting first, Glenn Maxwell (43) and Marcus Stoinis (21) displayed impressive power-hitting skills to enable Australia to post a target of 94 runs for the Men in Green in the first T20I.
Maxwell, who partnered with Matthew Short at the crease, quickly went on the attack, hitting four boundaries off Naseem Shah to advance Australia to 33-1 after just two overs.
Nevertheless, Pakistan made a comeback thanks to Haris Rauf, who bowled a disciplined over, giving away only three runs and dismissing Short (7), reining Pakistan back into the contest.
However, Maxwell continued his aggressive play, taking advantage of Rauf's subsequent over by smashing two sixes and a four, despite being dismissed three times by him in the ODI series.
His explosive innings concluded when he was caught by Usman Khan at deep square leg following a delivery from Abbas Afridi. Maxwell scored 43 runs off merely 19 balls, hitting eight boundaries, three of which were sixes.
