A young batsman, Harjeet Singh, collapsed and died of a sudden heart attack moments after hitting a six during a local cricket match in India’s Firozpur.
The shocking incident occurred during a tournament at the DAV School Ground in Firozpur and was captured in a heartbreaking video that quickly went viral on social media.
The footage shows Harjeet Singh hitting a six in spectacular fashion and walking toward his batting partner to celebrate. Just seconds later, he collapsed in the middle of the pitch, visibly in distress.
Players from both teams rushed to his aid and immediately attempted CPR, but despite their efforts, Harjeet could not be revived. He was later declared dead by doctors, with the cause confirmed as a heart attack.

The tragic incident bears a chilling similarity to a case from 2024 in Pune, where 35-year-old cricketer Imran Patel collapsed during a local match at Garware Stadium.
Imran, who had complained of chest pain, was walking off the field when he suddenly fell. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival due to cardiac arrest.
Medical professionals have raised concerns over the growing number of cardiac-related incidents among young athletes.
According to experts, factors such as extreme heat, physical stress, dehydration, and undiagnosed heart conditions could contribute to such sudden fatalities.
