Pakistan cricket team’s head coach Gary Kirsten announced that all-rounder Imad Wasim is fit and will participate in the highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 match against India in New York.
Imad, who has been sidelined since the T20I series against England last month, is now set to play against the arch-rivals.
"Imad Wasim will be available for the match against India,” Kirsten confirmed during a press conference.
“I prefer not to dwell on past games. We will forget the previous loss [against USA] and focus on the match [against India] to play excellent cricket,” Kirsten added.
Kirsten highlighted the fast-paced nature of T20 cricket and the need for swift decision-making. He also mentioned that the final playing XI has not yet been decided, as they are still assessing the fitness of a few players.
“Things change quickly in T20s, and we need to expedite our decision-making,” Kirsten stated. “No team gains a significant advantage by playing more games here.
Pakistan suffered a defeat in their T20 World Cup opener against the United States after a thrilling Super Over, struggling significantly with the bat.
