Lahore Qalandars have announced the direct signing of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman and the retention of Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.

The franchise confirmed that Mustafizur has been signed for a fee of Rs64.4 million, marking his return to the Lahore-based side.

The left-arm fast bowler previously represented Lahore Qalandars during the 2016 and 2018 editions of the PSL.

Lahore Qalandars’ owner Sameen Rana welcomed Mustafizur’s return, describing him as an important part of the team environment and expressing satisfaction at having him back in the dressing room for the upcoming season.

In addition to Mustafizur’s signing, the franchise has retained several key players. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been retained for Rs70 million, making him the team’s highest-paid retained player.

Batsman Abdullah Shafique has been retained for Rs20.2 million, while Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza will earn Rs20.8 million. Emerging batter Muhammad Naeem has been retained for Rs7 million.

The franchise is preparing to defend its title in the 11th edition of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans’ team auction is scheduled to take place on February 9.

The PSL 11 player retentions and direct signings are being announced as franchises finalize their squads ahead of the upcoming season.
