Pakistan has announced that it will participate in the T20 World Cup but will not play its scheduled match against India.

The decision came after a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, where an important call regarding Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup was finalised.

Following the meeting, the Government of Pakistan confirmed that while the national team will take part in the T20 Cricket World Cup, it will abstain from the match against India, originally scheduled for 15 February.

Government sources have now revealed the reasons behind the decision not to play India.

According to officials, several factors influenced the call, with the International Cricket Council’s perceived bias regarding Bangladesh being a key consideration.

Sources added that the Pakistani team was instructed to skip the match against India on 15 February as a form of protest.
