Pakistan advanced to the final of the Men’s FIH Nations Cup in Kuala Lumpur after defeating France in a nail-biting semifinal on Friday. The match ended in a 3-3 draw in regular time, pushing the contest into a penalty shootout.

Pakistan, placed in Pool B, edged past France 3-2 in a penalty shootout, securing their place in the final of the Men’s FIH Nations Cup.

The national hockey team had a thrilling journey to the semi-final stage — defeating Japan 3-2 in a close contest and holding host Malaysia to a 3-3 draw in a nail-biting match.

Pakistan’s only loss came against New Zealand, narrowly missing out in a 4-3 defeat. However, due to a superior goal difference, Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals ahead of Malaysia, with both teams tied at four points.

From Pool A, France and Korea qualified, while New Zealand and Pakistan emerged from Pool B, both securing top positions.

The second semi-final between New Zealand and Korea will determine who faces Pakistan in the final, a tournament that serves as a pathway to the FIH Hockey Pro League.

The grand final is scheduled for Saturday, with fans expecting yet another nail-biting thriller.
