Pakistan ties record with Rwanda for most T20I losses in 2024

Pakistan's national cricket team has experienced a challenging year in T20 International (T20I) cricket in 2024, setting an unwanted record by suffering 16 defeats in 27 matches. 

This record ties Pakistan with Rwanda, which also recorded 16 losses but in 24 matches.

The 2024 season has been marked by inconsistency and a lack of cohesion in Pakistan's T20I performances. 

Despite a strong cricketing heritage, the team has struggled to find a winning combination, suffering defeats against both established cricketing nations and less recognized teams.

While Pakistan and Rwanda share the top spot for most T20I losses, other nations like Bhutan and Indonesia also faced difficulties in the T20 format this year. 

Bhutan recorded 15 losses in just 19 matches, and Indonesia matched Pakistan's total number of matches but experienced 15 defeats in 27 games.

The statistic of Pakistan’s T20I record being on par with that of smaller cricketing nations has raised concerns within the country's cricketing community. It highlights the need for improvements in team performance and strategy.
