Pakistani athletes secured two gold and two silver medals at the Hero Open Malaysia International Taekwondo Championship, which featured over 2,000 competitors from 20 countries.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, Muhammad Umar clinched gold in the senior category after defeating a Chinese opponent in the final. Syed Hamza Shah won Pakistan’s second gold medal, overcoming athletes from Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

In the silver medal category, Shamil Ali Hussain won three consecutive bouts before finishing runner-up in the final. Hamad Nadeem also advanced to the final round but settled for silver following a competitive performance.

The organisers said the athletes’ success highlights Pakistan’s growing presence in international taekwondo and contributes to a positive image of the country in global sports.
