Pakistani weightlifters secure gold and bronze at Asian Masters Championship in Doha

Pakistani weightlifters delivered impressive performances at the ongoing Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship in Doha and secured two golds and one bronze medal on the second day of the event.
Rashid Khan clinched gold in the 89 kg weight category in the 50-year-old age group, lifting a total of 170 kg, with 80 kg in snatch and 90 kg in clean and jerk.
Meanwhile, Abdul Malik, competing in the 51-year-old age group, won bronze after lifting a total of 193 kg, 93 kg in snatch and 100 kg in clean and jerk.
With these wins, Pakistan’s total medal tally at the championship has reached three, two golds and one bronze.

Earlier, on the first day of the competition, Maqsood Amjad Rathore earned Pakistan’s first gold medal in the 96 kg category, competing in the 65-year-old age group. He lifted a total of 125 kg, including 55 kg in snatch and 70 kg in clean and jerk.
A total of 10 Pakistani athletes are participating in the championship, which is being held in Doha, Qatar, and will continue until May 31.
