PCB appoints New Zealand’s Mike Hesson as white-ball head coach

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the appointment of Mike Hesson as the white-ball head coach of the national cricket team, while former fast bowler Aqib Javed was named Director High Performance.
Naqvi confirmed that Hesson will officially take charge on May 26 and expressed his confidence in the New Zealander's abilities, saying he is pleased to welcome him to the Pakistan cricket setup.
“We look forward to his expertise and guidance in shaping the future of Pakistani cricket. Welcome to the team, Mike!” his post read on X.

“Aqib Javed and Mike Hesson will play a vital role in the growth and success of Pakistan cricket,” said the PCB Chairman, highlighting the significance of both appointments.
Mike Hesson, the former head coach of the New Zealand cricket team, was a strong contender for the coaching role. He is currently serving as the head coach of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
To strengthen our cricket infrastructure, Aqib Javed joins us as Director of High Performance, complementing Mike Hesson’s appointment as White-ball Head Coach. Together, they will play a pivotal role in the evolution and success of Pakistan Cricket.
