Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore has undergone a remarkable transformation, now standing as a modern, world-class venue in time for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin next month.

The renovation, overseen by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, has been completed in just five months, showcasing the PCB's commitment to enhancing the stadium's facilities.

Naqvi’s vision for the overhaul was to bring Gaddafi Stadium to par with other iconic international cricket grounds, elevating the experience for players, officials, media, and spectators alike.

The upgrades include new seating arrangements, state-of-the-art facilities, and a major improvement in the stadium's visual appeal. A focus on fan experience was central to the renovation, ensuring a premium atmosphere for all attendees.

The final stages of the renovation are nearly complete, with seat installations nearly finished. One of two new digital screens is already operational, with the second set to be ready shortly. Additionally, the floodlight towers have been upgraded, now equipped with advanced bulbs to offer a brighter, more spectacular lighting experience during matches.

With the renovation expected to be fully wrapped up in the next ten days, the stadium will be handed over to the PCB for the upcoming tri-nation series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, followed by the Champions Trophy. The tournament will feature 10 matches in Pakistan, with four matches, including all three of India’s group-stage games and the first semi-final, taking place in Dubai.

The first match of the Champions Trophy at Gaddafi Stadium is set for February 22, 2025, with a high-octane contest between England and Australia. The opening match will be held in Karachi on February 19, where hosts Pakistan will face New Zealand. A highly anticipated match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for February 23, 2025, in Dubai.

Lahore will host the final match of the tournament. However, should India qualify for the final, it will be held in Dubai.
