Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz claimed that Babar Azam was about to cry after Pakistan lost to Afghanistan in the ICC World Cup 2023.
This he said while talking to renowned social media influencer Momin Saqib. The video was uploaded on his Instagram account.
Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam gifted a bat to Gurbaz after the Afghans beat Pakistan by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Gurbaz stated in the video that, after the defeat, Babar Azam was so emotional to the extent that “He was about to cry”. He also praised Babar Azam for being the strongest during his tough times of back-to-back defeats.
“That moment I will never forget about Babar. We beat Pakistan, and then I asked for his bat. Once he brought the bat, he was so disappointed and I can feel it as a player. I can feel that you know, when you lose the game and then this, especially in this kind of situation. He was under so much pressure.”
“I remember that I also felt emotional, he is one of the best players, one of the best captains,” Gurbaz continued.
Moreover, Gurbaz claimed “Trust me, I was trying not to say this in front of the camera, but I want to say that he was about to cry. He was so dejected, and I have never seen any player like that. Everyone was against him. But I salute Babar bhai, he was so strong and he kept going. He never gave up,”
Additionally, Gurbaz’s younger brother who is a fan of Babar Azam, can be seen in the video for whom he asked Babar Azam for his bat.
