Legendary cricketer Shahid Afridi, currently representing the Green Shirts in the World Championship of Legends (WCL), took a swipe at the Indian team over their earlier refusal to play a group-stage match against Pakistan.

The controversy stemmed from India’s decision to avoid the group match due to heightened political tensions between the two countries following the Pahalgam incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) back in April.

Reportedly, some Indian players, including Shikhar Dhawan, objected to Afridi’s participation in the match and demanded that India would not take the field if he was part of the Pakistani squad.

However, after India secured a last-minute spot in the semi-finals by defeating Australia, the traditional arch-rivals are now set to face off on July 31.

Reacting to the development, Afridi remarked, “India kis munh se khelayga humare saath?” (With what face will India play against us now?), referring to the earlier boycott stance.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket star Yuvraj Singh commented that his team will indeed play the semi-final against Pakistan, stating they worked hard to earn their place in the knockout stage.
