The much-awaited match between Pakistan and India in the Twenty20 World Cup 2024 is likely to be affected by rain, according to the weather forecast.

The arch-rivals will face off in their first group match tomorrow (June 9) at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York at 7:30pm PST.

However, a weather forecast said that a heavy downpour is expected in New York on Sunday, a day when Pakistan and India are scheduled to lock horns with each other.

According to the Accu Weather report, there is a 51% chance of rain on the match day.

The rain is expected to play spoilsport half an hour after the start of the high-voltage clash.

In case of rain, extra time will be given to both teams to complete the match. If the match is washed out, both teams will get one point each.

The Green Shirts started their mega-event campaign with a humiliating defeat against the USA.

On the other hand, the Blue Shirts have secured one win against Ireland in their first match of the short-over tournament.
