'My Children Cry for Their Mother': India's Visa Ban Leaves Family in Pain

On April 22, as the world witnessed the tragic incident in Pahalgam, Indian-occupied Kashmir, Indian authorities abruptly terminated diplomatic ties with Pakistan and cancelled all visas granted to Pakistani citizens — including medical visas. The BJP-led government instructed all Pakistani travellers to leave the country within 48 hours.
Dialogue Pakistan spoke to Muhammad Imran, who had travelled to India with his family for the medical treatment of his son, Aliyan. He shared the anguish of having to abandon his child’s treatment and leave his wife stranded in India.
"I really miss my mother," said teenager Aliyan, bursting into tears. Aliyan, who was left paralysed after surviving a bullet injury, had gone to Delhi for medical care.
"The division of humanity has begun. There is no conflict between the people of India and Pakistan — this is a conflict between governments," Imran added. Watch full story on our YouTube channel.
