Israel has killed at least 115 infants under the age of eight months since October 7, as its ongoing military offensive in Gaza continues to claim the lives of the children.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the death toll includes 62 baby girls and 53 baby boys, all killed by the Israeli occupation army during the genocide.
Among them, at least 48 babies under one-month-old perished in airstrikes. Another 47 infants between one and three months old were also killed, along with 15 babies aged four to six months.
Five infants, aged six to eight months, also lost their lives.
Recently, three-day-old twins and their mother, who was a doctor, were targeted by an Israeli strike on their apartment in Deir al-Balah.
The father was at the hospital collecting the twins' birth certificates when he received news of their deaths. Videos on social media showed the devastated father mourning the loss of his entire family.
Israel has continued to claim that Hamas is responsible for beheading babies, which prompted US President Joe Biden to condemn the Palestinian resistance group.
However, no Israeli or international organisation has been able to verify such claims, while images of decapitated Palestinian children following Israeli airstrikes continue to emerge from the besieged Gaza Strip.
Children in Gaza are grappling with severe psychological trauma, malnutrition, skin disease and lack of health facilities, including clean water.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 40,000, with 92,401 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
Last month, in an open letter to US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, 45 American doctors who worked in Gaza hospitals revealed that the death toll is “ already greater than 92,000,” many times higher than reported by the Palestinian health ministry.
