Tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate, with reports confirming multiple casualties and injuries on both sides after a new wave of attacks.

At least five people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian city of Khorramabad, according to local media reports citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The strike targeted key military infrastructure in the region, amid Israel’s ongoing campaign against Iran’s nuclear and military facilities.

Iran’s Nour News Agency reported that since the conflict began on June 13, 15 members of the country’s air defence forces, including officers and soldiers, have been killed.

Israel has launched a series of strikes targeting not only military and nuclear sites but also civilian and government infrastructure, including the national television building.

Several high-ranking military commanders and nuclear scientists are also reported to have been assassinated in the ongoing Israeli military offensive.

Iranian strikes

In retaliation, Iran fired a missile that struck the Israeli city of Haifa on Friday, wounding three people. Israeli news outlet Haaretz reported that the injured are being treated at Rambam Hospital.

According to a hospital spokesperson, one of the victims remains in serious condition, while others who sustained minor injuries have been discharged.

The attacks came amid growing international concerns about a full-scale regional war. While Israel has stated it will continue its military campaign until it eliminates the perceived threat from Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Iran has vowed to defend its sovereignty with full force.

Diplomatic efforts have so far yielded little progress, with Iran conditioning any potential talks with the United States on an immediate cessation of Israeli strikes.

With casualties mounting and no signs of de-escalation, the prospect of a wider conflict continues to loom over the region.
