Chilling scenes show wounded Gaza children as Israel kills 28 people in latest attacks

Israel carried out the largest breach of the fragile ceasefire in Gaza, killing at least 28 Palestinians and wounding more than 70, including women and children. Videos in the aftermath showed heartbreaking scenes of severely injured children being rushed to hospitals, while others were pulled out from under the rubble.

The deaths resulted from Israeli attacks on three areas in Gaza, beyond the “yellow line,” which marks the mutually agreed boundary from which Israeli forces were supposed to withdraw under the ceasefire agreement backed by US President Donald Trump.

Israeli occupation forces bombarded southern Gaza’s al-Mawasi area near Khan Younis, the eastern Gaza City area of Shujayea, and a building in the Zeitoun neighbourhood. Among the dead were five members of a single family, a father, a mother, and their three children.

Following the attack, the Israeli army issued a statement claiming that the strikes targeted Hamas fighters who had allegedly opened fire on troops in Khan Younis.

Meanwhile, Hamas called the attacks a grave breach of the ceasefire and denied targeting Israeli soldiers in Khan Younis.

“We consider this a dangerous escalation through which the war criminal [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu seeks to resume the genocide against our people,” Hamas said.
