Israel’s Foreign Minister Katz claimed that drone attack on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s home was Iranian ‘assassination’ bid.
“The Iranian proxies who attempted to assassinate Prime Minister Netanyahu and his family today have once again exposed Iran’s true face and the evil axis it leads,” Israel Katz said in a statement on X.
His comments came after Netanyahu’s office said a drone targeted the premier’s residence in the town of Caesarea.
Three drones were launched from Lebanon toward Israel early Saturday morning. Two were intercepted, while one struck Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea.
Hezbollah later confirmed that it fired a “large rocket salvo” at Haifa and Caesarea in retaliation for Israeli attacks on its centres in Lebanon.
According to Al Jazeera, Hezbollah employs a strategy of launching simultaneous attacks on multiple locations to bypass Israeli tracking systems for drones and missiles.
The Israeli army imposed a complete media blackout on sharing any further details of the attack.
Footage shared by Quds Network on X showed a drone moving ahead of an Israeli helicopter toward Caesarea, successfully striking Netanyahu’s residence.
